WELLINGTON, May 17. Regulations with reference to life-saving appliances for ships are gazetted. Returns for last month show the arrivals to have been 1,802, and the departures 2 522.
Since 1891 there has been an increase of 2-i per cent, in the number of dairy cows in the colony, an increase of 22 per cent, in cattle, and of 18 per cent, in breeding cows.
