Sib, Can you inform me, through tha medium of your columns, if after the first week of the New Year shopkeepers must observe the new law and close up one day of the week at 1 p.m. ? as I notice the City Council have not as yet fixed on the day to be observed; or are there to be a few weeks' grace allowed ? Also, if chemists' assistants have to return and work during the hours of seven to nine on the day of the holiday ?—I am, etc., SHOPKEEPER. Dunedin, December 27.
