LAND BOARD.

The regular meeting was hold yesterday, and attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (Chief Commissioner), Duncan, Dallas, M'Kerrow, and Clark.

The Board rescinded the forfeiture of deferredpayment license 4,011, Poolburn, the licensee having paid up arrears of interest. . A letter from J. Ewart in regard to the Cannibal Bay road, Glenomaru, was referred to the consideration of the Clutha County Council, with the hope that- measures may be taken to afford relief. Mr Ewart's complaint was that though he had paid rent for throe years he had no proper access to his holding. Mr W. F. Inder having written in regard to tho mining reserve at the back of sections 38 and 39, block 3, Blackstone, the Board decided to inform the applicant that' they do not intend to cancel the license at present held by Mr Turnbull over any part or the land, but the portion lying south-west of the road line will not be included in Turnbull's license after the date of the expiry of the tame in August. The following applications for rural land on the lease-ic-perpetuity system were approved: —N. W. Ayson, section 3, block 13, Rimu district ; and D. Martin, section 13, block 1, Tautuku district.

D. Neill applied for rural section 4, block 12, Rimu district.—Approved. The Board agreed to the transfer from John Macdonald to Duncan Macdonald, as co-licensee, of section 63, block 1, Catlins district. Ann Duncan applied to be registered as licensee, pursuant to the will of the late David Duncan, of sections 22 and 23, block 3, and section 24, blook 2, Maniototo.—Approved. The transfer of section 51, block 3, Gleitomaru, from John Anderson to Graham Dawson was approved. Alex. Purvis applied to exchange his holding of sections 2, 3, and 4, block 2, Poolburn, from perpetual lease to lease in perpetuity.—Approved. Mr W. F. Inder, on behalf of Andrew Patterson, applied to be allowed to acquire section 10, block 12, Maniototo, under section 115 of the Act.—Declined.

Mr T. Chalmer, on behalf of L. .H. T. Botting, applied for permission to purchase, under section 115 of the Act, one acre, being part of section 50, block 9, Maruwenua district. —Granted at the capi'al value of £2 per acre. Messrs fi,. B. Martin and Son, on behalf of Mrs J. E. A. Lory, asked leave .to withdraw application for section 6, block 13, Rimu.— Granted.

In compliance with a request the Board consented to issue the lease of section 15, block 13, Rimu, in the joint names of Alfred E. Montgomery and Robert 1). Montgomery. It was decided that F. Pearson pay £1 4s valuation for fencing on section 10, block 6, Rock and Pillar, and Lawrence Matthews pay £2<i6s, being valuation for fencing on section 12, block 6.
