Mr J. W. Paulin sends us this memo.: —"Subsidiary disturbances bavcbeenpassiDg our S.E. coast, bctweeu the Bluff ami Otago Heads, and their presence points to deeper disturbances, most likely in connection with the storms noticed by Mr Wragge, of Brisbane, last week ; consequently indications are very irregular. Light to modern N.E. to N-Vy. winda and local rain showers at
present, but barometer should further fall and indications become stormy within twenty-four hours." At 1.15 p.m. Mr Paulin telephoned:•—" Strong N.'W. to S.VV. winds, and heavy rain within twelve hours."
