In the Reichstag, the Chancellor (Count Von Caprivi) said he had been urged to annex Tonga in addition to Samba.
Conflicting reports are published regarding the despatch of German warships to Samoa.'
: The ' Cologne Gazette' says the Colonial /Society demand, that Germany should establish a proto&torate over Samoa.
