THE TE ARO GOODS SHED.
Under instructions from the Minister, the Under-Secretary for Public Works has written to the Wellington' Harbor Board and the City Council inquiring whether- these bodies still persisted in their objection to the construction of a railway goods shed at the Te Aro end of the- city, and the consequent reclamation from the harbor of land required for the same. The letter states that the Government still consider that such a station is required in order to render the extension of the railway to Te Aro of the fullest use to the large population at the southern end of the city, and. the Undersecretary is insfcjrupt«d to point out that the prosecution pf the wprk would'afford employment for a considerable number pf men, and tend largely to relieve the congestion at present eifisfing in the Jabop market pf the city, ■■-
