ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A shepherd named Alexander Linton poisoned himself in the Masonic Hotel, Blenheim, at noon yesterday, by swallowing a dose of strychnine. Deceased had previously been in great pain from the effects of dental treatment.
A domestic servant in Auckland named Florence Parker, aged eighteen, Wok rough on rats through some private trouble. She is in the hospital in a precarious condition. The name of the workman at Findlay and Murdoch's timber factory who met with an accident while at work at a circular saw was given as Barwon. It should have been John Bowers. As the man's thumb was hurt very badly the hospital surgeon had to amputate it, after which Bowers went home.
