A NEW PHARMACY BILL.
A deputation from the Pharmacy Board waited on the Premier at Wellington yesterday and submitted a draft Pharmacy Bill which the Board desire the Government to pass this session. The Bill proposes to deal with the whole question of the sale of drugs and poisons : and to meet such cases as that which recently arose at Blenheim it proposes that all chemists who have branch shop 3 be required to place qualified assistants in charge of them. The Hon. Mr Seddon in reply said it would be impossible with the business already in hand for the Government to bring in such a comprehensive measure as that submitted ; but regarding the question of the indiscriminate sale of poisons, the Government proposed to bring in an amending Bill entitled tho Sale and Carriage of Poison Bill, to enforce the righteous carrying out of the Poisons Act and to prevent any chance of their being mixed with goods.
