CHRISTCHURGH, Jpub 6» In the Bankruptcy Cdtlrt td-dfty Gedrg* A. Preetie, formerly a resident, .magistrate, applied for his discharge. The Official Assignee's report melted to certain irregular dealings with regard to trust moneys belonging to Hawked Bay Natives. Mr Stringer pointed out that granting the discharge would not free bankrupt from liability in respect to these transactions. Judge Ward remarked the granting of a discharge was an indication that the Court approved of the conduot of the bankrupt, which the Court oould not express in this case. Mr Lynskey, a creditor, opposed the application. His Hone* expressed strong disapproval of the conduct Of rupt as a resident magistrate in borrowing money from an officer df his court, and also of Ills misapplication of the trust funds of the Natives.
