LONDON, Junk 6.
(Received .lunc7, 181)3, at 11.30 a.m.)
Mr Chamberlain denied the charge, brought by the ' Daily News,' of insulting and interrupting the Premier and trying to wear him out. He moved that the remarks of tho ' News' constituted a breach of privilege.
Mr Balfour said he recognised the Premier as one of the greatest figures in our parliamentary history, and would give him more than fair play.
Mr Gladstone said he understood the interruption as having no personal relation to himself, and as merely an expression of Mr Chamberlain's sentiments. Mr Chamberlain withdrew his motion.
