It ii expected that the twoaewCunard line steamers building at Gov*n, Scotland, with triple expansion engit ea of at least 50 per cent, more indicated howe power than the Teutouio and Majeatic, will attain a speed of 22 to 22J knots an hour, which will mean a minimum parage of about 5d 4h across the Atlantic. In W3 the Britannic, to make the passage in 7d lib, indicated 5 100 horse-power, and consumed 108 tons of coal a day. Either of these new boats, in makiDjr the same passage in 5d 4b, will Indicate 26,000 horse-power, and will consume 410 tons of coal a day. It will be seen that to gainst daya on the passage It ia neoessary to multiply tho herse power by five and the dally consumption of coal by four, notwithstanding that at least 25 per cent, more emaleney is gained from .he fuel by the adoption of triple engines. p MOVKMENTB OF THE UNION BTKAM SHIP COMPANY'S FLBKT.
