DUNEDIN HEBREW SCHOOL.

The Jewish children of this community were given a party in the Synagogue vestry room yesterday to celebrate the Feast of Pnrim. The Ohio Minstrels contributed one of their unique entertainments. Vocal selections were given by the Misses Jacobs (2) and Lichtenstein (2), and instrumental by the Misses Mendelsohn (2) and Lichtenstein and Master Lichtenstein. The trio for violin (Miss B. Mendelsohn), piano (Mies Dinah Lichtenstein), and flute (Master Lichtenstein) was rendered in capital style. The Rev. B. Lichtenstein reported having examined the three highest classes in reading, translation, grammar, history, and religious knowledge, and stated that the children to whom prizes had been awarded showed great proficiency in the various subjects. Those pnpils who had failed in their papers were, according to the school registry, those who bad been irregular in their attendw oo eT a fact which would be borne ont by Mr S. Jacobs, who had assisted in the examinatiqps. The following is the prize-list:—First Division —First Class : Miss Dinah Lichtenstein 1, Isaac Moss 2. Second Class : John Marks 1, Morris Lichtenstein and Lewis Solomon 2. Sabbath School: Vivian Jacobs 1, Aaron Langley 2. Prizes were donated by Messrs B, Hallenstein, D. E. Tbeomin, L. Mendelsohn, S. Solomon, J. Hyman, S. Jacobs, and M. Dayman. In the evening the adult poition of the community held a dance, which was kept up till midnight, music being snpplied by Mrs A. Cohen, Miss Mendelsohn, and Mr Raphael. The piano was lent by the Dresden Company.
