The existence of a "Sorosis Glab" in Bombay on the American model is another token of the ohange that is coming over the condition of women in India, It is but a modest beginning, claiming, according to the report, little beyond the fact that "young ladies and misses from sohool" are brought of their sympathies and interests. The members, however, are stated to number already two hundred young ladies of many races; and as Dr Ryder, who has taken a leading part in the movement, observes, it is a new thing for India that the Hindu woman should fraternise with the Farsee, and both with the Christian, and that the long secluded Mahomedan woman should share in the new comradeship,
