Fatal accidents with firearms continue to be of common occurrence. At Jnnee (N.S.W.) a gun which had recently been purchased would not snap a cap, and the purchaser brought it into the shop to have it examined. A brother of the proprietor of the store put what be thought was a blank cartridge into the gun and pulled the trigger. The cartridge, which proved to be loaded, exploded, and the charge entered the groin of one of the employes of the shop, named James Driver, who died in a few hours, A twelve-year-old boy named John Nee went ont to shoot birds with an oldfashioned pistol near Sydney on the 24tb, and was found a few hours after lying dead on the ground with a terrible wound in the abdomen. Heinrich Sobmilmahi, the greatest millionaire of Hamburg, has decided to leave his immense fortune tv build an asylum for unmarried women.
