VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
On Tuesday evening last the signallers of the Dunedin Engineers were exercised in flag signalling by Instructor Butler, of the Permanent Artillery, and the mining class instructed In the making of fuses by Sergeant-major Henry; and on Wednesday evening the field engineering squad attended for instruction in knotting and lashing. The following promotions have been made in the company Sergeant Sazby, to be (] oar term as ter-sergeant; Corporals Morgan and Brodie, to be sergeants; Lance-corporals Bryant Love, to be corporals. Morrls-tnbe practice takes place every evening, and is being largely availed of by members, who have benefited greatly by the shooting
