The action of M'Cormick v. Gnthbert ia being tried in the Supreme Court, It ia a claim of L 5,000 damagea ior libel. Plaintiff ia a magiatrate, and defendant was formerly Miniatet for Jnatioe. The libel ia alleged to have been contained in official letter*, which were taken to infer that Mr M'Oormiok had Improperly and corruptly adjourned certain caaea. . The defence applied for a nosauit on the ground that the Minlator, In wHting on matter* otState; ia absolutely privileged. The trial has been adjourneji.
