Simpson, on behalf of Robert Boyd and others, who competed at the ballot on Thursday, the 27th August, as applicants for sections 1 to 6, block IS, Bock and Pillar, wrote objecting to the Board declaring Anna Maria Ramsay the lessee of section 6, which she was successful in drawing at the ballot The reasons for the objection were that she was the person under the will of the late James Ramsay, who was an equitable owner of sections 25, 24, and 22, block 3, Rock and Pillar, of which the late James Ramsay was lessee, and that as equitable owner of the said section she was disqualified from balloting for the section for which she was successful at the ballot, as the former sections did not adjoin the latter, but were distant some four miles. He (Mr Simpson) was also informed that Mrs Ramsay was in the natural possession of sections 25, 24, and 22, block 3. Mr Woodfacnae applied on behalf of Mr Simpaon to oppose the application of Mrs Ramsay, and Mr Mondy in support of it The latter contended that as the executors held the land left by the will of the late James Ramsay in trust for the creditors, and that as the only possible contingency was tiat Anna Maria Ramsay would get at most onethird interest ont of it, her application should be granted.—The Board adjourned consideration of the matter for a week.
