OUR PARLIAMENT.
XO THB EDITOB. Sir,— Unquestionably the Labor party have the balance of power. What is the outcome ? Is the tradesman or tbe laborer better off ? or are numbers off for pastures new? Has the onerr.an-one vote scheme put one more ooin into our pockets ? Has the gentleman—the man of refined feelings —resigned his seat in a Parliament ruled by the Labor party? Is not the taxation scheme designed more to scare away than to encourage capitalists? Is not the whole policy of the Government that of the niggard and stingy type, " withholding more than is meet, while it tends to poverty ?" Are the Labor party truly in sympathy with the pinoh of depression in voting themselves nearly double pay ? For what ?—I am, etc, A Working Man, Dunedia, September 1.
