Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under : For Northern Ports, overland daily, at 10.30 a.m., e.t Chief Post Office. Late letters, guard's van, North train, at 11 a.m. Thuhsdat, September. 3. For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Japan, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, eta—Per Manapouri, at 150 p.m. Late letters, guard's van. Port Ohalmerß train, at 2 30 p.m. Money orders (for Australian Colonies only}, registered letters, and newspapers, at 12.50 p.m. Parol post mall for the Australian Colonies (except for New South Wales and Queensland) will olese at 12.20 p.m. Wednesday, September 9.
Mail 1 for Coal Island will close at Dunedin at .7 a.m., to connect with the s.s. Invercargill at Inverourgill.

Parcels for the United Kingdom, etc, will close at this office on Friday, 4th, at 9.30 a.m SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. Wednesday, September 9. For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich Islands, United States of America, Canada, South America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a m. Registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Bth. Money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Bth. Book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 9th. Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage (2£i) as a late fee, can be posted in the mail van attached to the North train leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the 9th The above mail will close- at the Branch Post Offices, Dunedin North and South Dunedin, for money orders at 4 pm, and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the Bth; letters at 9.30 a.m. and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 9th, At the Port Chalmers Office at 5a m. on the 9th, money orders at 4 r\m , and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the Bth, (Signeaj Kdwaed D.
