THE TOWN HALL CLOCK.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am sorry to see that a correspondent, signing himself " Truth," is finding fault with the good time-keeping of our Town Hall clock. I wish to inform him that it is impossible for this clock to jnmp forward three minutes in one day; also that the clook has been going remarkably steady during the winter months, whioh are just over. Another thing, the railway authorities used to keep their time from two to three minutes behind town time for the benefit of the public; but latterly they been working their time as much as two minutes fast of town time, causing some people to growl. Wellington time is telegraphed through once a week, and the town clock is checked by it, and the variation of tbe clock is very slight. Now if the railway authorities would keep their time a little behind the Wellington time everyone would be satisfied. Finally, I would advise "Truth " to get his Waterbury overhauled before he again tries to oheck our Town Hall clock.—l am, etc., Horology. Dunedin, September 1.
