PATEY CONCERTS.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir,—ln your excellent critique on Madame Patey's conoert in your issueof last night you mention at the close of it that " the musical people of Dunedin have a very earnest desire to bear Madame Patey in oratorio music." Now, one of her greatest triumphs has been her exquisite rendering of 1 Oh, rest in the Lord,' Irom the * Elijah.' In 1875 she was presented with a commemoration medal by the directors of the Paris Conservatoire for her admirable rendering of this magnificent air; and should Madame Patey condescend to sing it to us the memory of it will remain to the last with all who have the good fortune to hear her sing it.—l am, etc., Broomielaw, Dunedin, Jume 26. [Madame Patey has undertaken to comply with our correspondent's request, whioh has been preferred from several quarters.—Ed. E.S.]
