The Verb To Strike.
Apropos of the subject of Btrikes, we take the following " grammatical exerotse for the times" from the columns of a Weymouth contemporary : Conjugation of the verb "To Strike," in the first person of eaoh tense, with observations thereon, by one who, having been engaged in a former "strike," is forcibly " struok " with the evils of a system which has well nigh " stricken " him to the verge of ruin.

Perfect To have struok Oooe is enough for one's lifetime. Future To be about to strike Is about as unhappy a state as a poor fellow oan well bain. FARTtCINiM. Present Striking Is quarrelling with one's own bread and butter. Past Struck With astonishment to 2nd all your things gone to the pawnbroker's. Compound Having struck Once, never to de it again.
