The Russian Imperial Family.
The summary exclusion of the Grand Duke Miohaelovitoh from the army (says a Home paper of April 18) was caused by his having contracted a marriage—which the Czar considers a mesalliance with the granddaughter of the national poet, Pushkin, the daughter of the Duke of Nassau by his morganatio wife, Pushkin's child. The Emperor had forbidden him a year ago to marry Comtesse Ignatieff, the daughter of the former Russian Ambassador at Constantinople ; later on his mother, the Grand Duchess, had ordered him to refrain from entering into wedlook with his maid servant, and about a week ago the Emperor, bearing that he intended to marry his present wife, wrote a letter threatening—in case be carried out his intention —$p>deprive him of his rank and rights and dismiss Mm from the army. To this letter His Majesty received a reply containing the following passage: —"I am unable to obey your Majesty's orders, among other reasons because I have been married to the lady in question for over five weeks." It was to mark his sense of this act, of disobedience that the Emperor published the ukase dis-! missing the Grand Dukeifrom the army, and likewise issued a secret one depriving him ofi the rank and privileges of a Grand Duke. Recent cablegrams say that the "Imperial Gnard ba-ve resented the Gear's act.
