CITY POLICE COURT. (Before Mr G. Fenwick, J.P.) Drunkenness—Two first offenders were dealt with, both being fined sa, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Disobderly Behaviour.— Patrick Hennmy was charged with behaving in Maolaggan street in a manner whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.—Constable Cooney Btated that at 445 p.m. yesterday he saw the accused cross the road in Maolaggan street and deliberately strike a man named Curran, who was carrying a kerosene tin. Both men were under the influence of drink.—The accused stoutly denied that he had struck the roan, though he admitted kicking the kerosene tin. —Curran on being called on did not put in an appearance, and His Worship said that he thought it the duty of the police to have had him present. If a remand were wished he would grant it.—Remanded till Monday. (Before Messrs G. Feuwiek and D. Stronach, Justices,) Chabgb of Laboeny.— John Wyne was oharged with stealing, on the 23rd inst., a olook of the value of L 5, the property of William Sachtler. Detective Henderson applied for a remand till Thursday, as the accused Was only arrested last evening,— The accused, in answer to the Bench, said that he had no objection to a remand till any date that would be convenient to the prosecution. When the Bench heard the occasion of his arrest they would laugh, and treat the prosecution as a farce,—Remanded till Thursday, Jane 4.
