These are amonwst the reasons put forward by the ‘ Herald ’°as influencing the Government in favor of an early dissolution of Parliament. It is stated that owing to the fact that numerous by-elections have gone against the Government they have little hope of passing any important measures next session ; and also that any scheme for the improvement of Irish affairs will necessitate an appeal to the country.
