A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —In your report of the case on Monday between A. R. Barclay (solicitor) and myself you make it appear that I charged him 2s 6d for one rib, when it was acknowledged by expert witnesses on both sides that there had been three new ribs put in, head wire, slide wire, new inside oap, nickelplated collar and ferule, and new leather, besides a new brass spring in the stick. He brought a witness to prove that I had done his umbrella free of charge; but the fact was that I re-covered this umbrella, and guaranteed it for twelve months. 1 always do the work for nothing if it does not last that time. Well might Mr Carew, in giving judgment, state that he thought the price charged for the work done was fair and reasonable,— l am, etc., H, Lethaby, Dunedin, January 15.
