MUNICIPAL.
Mok.ninciton.—Last night's meeting was attended by the Mayor (Mr J. Scoulur) and Crs Grindley, Wills, Horsburgh, Cahill, Page, Caffin, Reynolds, and Scott. The Finance Committee reported that the bank overdraft was L 770 7s 7d.—The Inspector of Nuisances reported that he had visited the slaughtering premises during the month and found them clean throughout. Some sixty-seven head of large and 726 head of small cattle had been slaughtered in December.—Mr Charles Stevenson's letter re, cutting Avoca street through to its permanent level was referred to the Works Committee to report.—Mrs Elizabeth Matthews wrote applying for permission to remove about forty loads of clay in front of Mr Horsburgh's residence. Referred to chairman of Works Committee. —Mr James Wren, jun., having written with regard to the disposal of nightsoil and rubbish in the borough, the matter was referred to the Mayor and Crs Page and Caffin to report to next meeting of the Council.
