THE FIRE AT GIBBS, SHALLARD'S, SYDNEY, March 18.
The fire on the premises of Gibbs, Shallard, and Co. on Saturday night did damage to the amount of LIO,OOO. The South British Company had a risk of LI,OOO.
THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION. MELBOURNE, Marcii 18. It ia understood that the Government will, after the elections are over, make a preliminary grant of L 2,000 in order that Victoria shall be officially represented at the Dunedin Exhibition.
A TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. BRISBANE, March IS,
Since February, ISB7, not six inches of rain have fallen in the Tambo district. The drought has been terrible. Many of the holdings are unable to carry a single beast.
