Lizzie Ellen, schooner, 45 tons, Wares, for Fortroso. Three months ago the British barque Brussels was found on fire in the harbor at midnight, alter she had taken in a valuable cargo for Havre. She needed considerable repairs, and her captain was transferred to another vessel belonging to the same owners, and went to Newcastle. AftcrCnptain Cros'-y’s departure the chief officer and steward of the inrque accused him of setting fire to her. The police had, however, been quietly working up a case against these two worthies, and they were arrested, tried, and found guilty, both finally acknowledging their guilt. The Stewart, Charles R. Back man, who was the instigator of the crime, received a sentence of thirty-five years’ imprisonment at bard laoor, while the chief officer, Clarenoo L. Caskey, was sentenced to fifteen years' impiisnnment. The Westland is clear of cargo in her ’tween decks, and has broken bulk in tire lower hold. Captain Scotland expects to leave for Lyttelton by this day week. The brigantine Enterprise completed loading for Napier this afternoon. The* Fileshire commenced to take in her frozen mutton and other ca r go yesterday afternoon. The Penguin was taken into the graving dock yesterday afternoon. The Bass Kook commenced to discharge her cargo into the lighter Thomas and Henry yesterday. THE DIRECT STEAMERS. The s s lonic sailed from Hobart at 2 p.m. yesterday. She will oomo into port on Wcdnesdcy morning’s tide. MOVEMENTS OF THE UNION STEAM SHIP COMPANY’S FLEET.
