HOSPITAL BOARD.
A special meeting of the Hospital Board, held this afternoon, was attended by Messrs Robin (in the chair), Moss, Carroll, Snow, and Clarke.
The Hospital Trustees wrote that the action of the Committee in deducting the whole of their credit balance (L 343 Os lOd) from their requisition had placed them in an " embarrassing " position. The amount of the requisition being L5lB 9s 9d, they had not anticipated any further deduction than the receipts (LIOB 12s). Instead of granting the balance of L 409 17s 9d, only L 175 8s lid had been granted, leaving a deficiency of L 234 8s lOd. At the date of the requisition a sum of L 297 Os lid was due to the contractor for the operating room, which they were now unable to pay, and asked the Committee to reconsider the matter.—After discussion, it was decided, upon the motion of Mr Carroll, that consideration of the matter stand over until next meeting.
