Direct steam communication with Great Britain has induced numbers of our citizens to pay visits to the Home Country, and those who purposed getting a good Gold Watch usually supply themselves with one while at Home, thinking thereby that they get it much cheaper than they would in the colony. This would, no doubt, be the case did the Home watchmaker sell at the same profit as we do here; but it is a well-known fact that the best shops at Home get enormous profits, so that, although we have a duty of 16J per cent, here, we can still sell at as low a figure. With a view, however, to induce the Public to purchase all their goods here, and to meet the present depressed times, G. AND T. YOUNG are now revising the whole of their Prices, commencing with the prices of GOLD and SILVER WATCHES.
