(Received May 16, 1888, at 10.30 a.m.) It lias been ascertained that all the stations in German New Guinea have turned out unprofitable. VOLCANIC DISTURBANCES IN NEW GUINEA. London, May 15, (Received May 16,1888, at 12.35 p,m.) Information has been received from New Guinea that a volcanic eruption, accompanied by a large waterspout, has been experienced in New Pomerania, situated in the German portion of the island.
