Struck Home.—At an evening party a lady was called upon for a song, and began : 'l'll strike again my tuneful lyre.' Her husband was observed to dodge suddenly and start hurriedly from the room, exclaiming : " Not if I know it, she won't." The lollowing was recently turned in as a bona fide composition by an Indiana schoolboy : —" The human body is made up of the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. The head contains the brains, when there is any. The thorax contains the heart, lungs, and diafram. The abdomen contains the bowels, of which there arc five—A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes W and Y." What did the spider do when he came out of the ark ? lie tool; a fly and went home.
