VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The First Battalion of Otago Rifle Volunteers paraded at the Garrison Hall on Monday, and was inspected by Lieutenantcolonel Wales, and afterwards put through a number of movements by Lieutenantcolonel Reeves. The parade state was as follows:
Staff 1 nontenant - colonel, 1 major, 1 sergeant-major. Garriscn Band—l bandmaster, 2 sergeants, 1 corporal, 30 rank and file; total, 34. City Guards-1 captain, 2 lieutenants, 1 color-sergeant, 4 sergeants, 2 corporals, 1 bugler, 31 rank and file ; total, 42. North Dunedin Rifles—l captain, 1 lieutenant, 1 color-sergeant, 3 sergeants, 2 corporals, 1 bugler, 32 rank and file ; total, 41. Wakari Rifles—l captain, 1 color-sergeant, 2 sergeants, 1 corporal, 28 rank and file ; total, 33. Highland Rifteß~l captain, 2 lieutenants, 3 sergeants, 4 corporals, 2 buglers, 30 rank and file; total, 48. Engineers—l captain, 1 lieutenant, J colorsergeant, 2 sergeants, 2 corporals, 1 bugler, 30 rank and file ; total, 37. Caveinham Rifle" -I captain. 2 lieutenants, 1 sergeant, 1 corporal, 1 bugler, IX rank and file ; total, 24. „ , Irish Killos-2 lieutenants, 1 olor-sergeant, 3 sergeants, 4 corporals, 2 buglers, 28 rank and filo; total, 40. , ~ i South District—l captain, 1 lieutenant, 1 surgeon, 1 color-sergeant, 3 sergeants, 3_ corporals, 1 bugler, 35 rank and file ; total, 40.
