THE CITY COUNCIL.
The following notices are on the Order Paper for Wednesday’s meeting;—
Cr Cohen: “That by-law No. 2, part 11, section 21, be referred to the General Committee for revision,”
Cr Lee Smith: “That the resolution appointing the Gas Committee be revoked,” and that, contingent upon the foregoing motion being adopted, “ that a new Gas Supply Committee be appointed.” “That with a view of assuring the public mind as to the safety of the Princess’s Theatre, Messrs Hardy and Mirams be requested to reinspect the building, and report whether such alterations have been made as are necessary.” —“That the Council take into consideration the advisability of reducing the price of gas to the uniform rate of 6s 3d per 1,000 ft,”
Cr Cramond—“That it be remitted to the Works Committee, with power to act, to extend the pipe drain in Forth street, between Albany street and Forth street bridge, to take away the stagnant water that continually lies there ” ; and " to report as to the best means of preventing the water that flows down the north end of Queen street on to Campbell’s property, so that it be put a stop to at once.” Cr Hardy—“ That it be an instruction to the Public Works Committee to take steps for numbering the houses in the Cby.”
