AN AUCKLAND MINING YENTX T RE. Sydney, April IG. (Received April 16, 1888, at 12.20 p.m.) The prospectus of the Broken Hill Marotobo Silver and Gold Mining Company has been issued with a capital of L 85,000, The object of the company is to purchase and develop a block of country near Hikutaia, Thames district, Auckland.
VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS.
Sydney, April 16.
Nows has been received here of a volcanic eruption at Arabryn Island, one of the New Hebrides group. The whole face of the country has been destroyed by a thick deposit of volcanic dust from the mountain in eruption, No casualties are reported.
