WAKARI SCHOOL.

Tho annual distribution of prizes at the above school took place on Thursday last before a number of the parents of the chil dren and friends. The schoolroom was enlivened with decorations of flowers and ferns. About 140 pupils were present. The head-teacher is Mr Paterson aud the mistress Miss Christie. The percentage of passes attained by the school at last examination was 92. After songs and recitations had been given by the children, Mr Hood (who occupied the chair) complimented the children on the manner in which they had gone through their exercises, and proceeded to distribute the prizes.
