An eight-roomed house near, Eketahuna was destroyed by fire on Good Friday. THe house was occupied by Mr Burling and family, and was insured forL3oo in the New Zealand Office. A new five-roomed cottage at Petone, burnt on Saturday night, wbb insured for LIOO in the South British. The origin in each case was unknown. The weather is fine for the holiday, but a strong wind blowing has put a stop to boating about the harbor. The Wairarapa has gone to Picton with a number of excursionists. .
