EASTER SUNDAY.

St. Paul's Church was elaborately decorated for yesterday's services, some tasteful designs being nicely set off by masses of flowers and ferns. The Rev. Q. Bacon preached in the morning, and the Ven. Archdeacon Edwards in the evening. There was full choral service on both occasions. At St. Matthew's, also, a deal of pains had been taken to adorn the interior of the church, and there were largo congregations at both services. The Rev. Mr Yorke was the preacher. A feature of the decorations at All Saints' was a handsome altar-cloth, an Easter offering from some of the ladies of the congregation. The Rev. A. R. Fitchett preached the sermons at matins and evensong, and the choral services were effectively rendered under the direction of Mr M. Smith.

St. Peter's presented a very bright and cheery appearance as one glanced inside, the ladies having made a special effort in the way of dressing the walls and the sanctuary with flowers and elaborate draperies. The Rev. Mr Watson preachod morning and evening tolarge congregations; and the choir, clothed in cassocks and surplices for the first time, gave evidence that the choral services had been well practised. St. John's, Roslyn, was not behindhand in making an effective display, the altar especially being tastefully and appropriately dressed in honor of the occasion. Tho Rev. Mr Kerkham was the preacher. There waa a good congregation at each service.

Holy Trinity Church, Port Chalmers, was very prettily decorated. There was a beautiful display of flowers and ferns, and a number of illuminated texts were exhibited both in the chancel and on the walls. The services both morning and evening were choral, and were conducted by the Rev. F. C. Flatts. Special services were held at Knox Church, Kaster hymns being used. The Rev. C. S. Ross, of Victoria, preached on the Resurrection, and gavo an interesting history of Easter Sunday. There was a full congregation both in the morning and evening.
