PROTECTIONISTS IN SESSION

The inaugural meeting of the first conference of the Industrial Protection Association took place at Wellington yesterday. The following delegates were present:—Mr Shepherd, Auckland; Messrs T. K. Macdonald, J. Dransfield, Hildreth Chalmers, Wellington; Messrs Bellhouse and Kirk, Christchurch ; Mr Hodge, Otago; Mr M'lntosh and Mr James Stewart, Southland. It was unanimously resolved that each centrs should have four votes. Mr was elected president, and Mr J. Dransfield vice-president.
