PUBLIC NOTICES. -m/TOLLISON, MILLS, AND COMPANY, THE GEORGE STREET DRAPERY WAREHOUSE, 195 and 197 GEORGE STREET, DUNEDIN (Late Mollison, Duthie, and Co.). NOTICE—REOPENING DAY, MONDAY, 13th FEBRUARY, 1888. Wo have much pleasure in announcing to our Customers and the Public generally that we shall Reopen our Premises as above. As announced, the changes which have taken 2>lace in our Business have been made with the view to its proper reorganisation upon lines carefully projected. We have pleasure now in announcing to the Public what are these lines, and what are the leading features of our Establishment. Our Three Main Departments are: FIRST—GENERAL DRAPERY-LADIES' DEPARTMENT. This Department will continue, as formerly, to be under the management of Mr James Mor.l.rsoN, who is widely and favorably known; and with him is a specially-trained Staff cf Assistant?. Ladies may therefore depend on being attended to with civility and despatch. LADIES' DRESS DEPARTMENT. This Department is under the control and careful management of Miss Fergus, whose services we have been fortunate in retaining, and who has for some years back conducted this department with credit to herself and satis faction to our customers. Economy and the saving of material will be made a feature, and Ladies will please note that arrangements have been made whereby in future, after selection of Material and Trimmings, Prices can be given for Dresses complete, thus avoiding any doubt as to ultimate cost. Our MILLINERY DEPARTMENT, also, will be made a special feature, and its reputation as second to none in the City shall be maintained.

THIRDGENTLEMEN'S OUTFIT DEPARTMENT. This Department will be under the personal care and management of our Mr Kdward Mills, whose taste and judgment as a buyer and whose pleasing ability as a seller are widely known throughort the whole of Otago and Southland. A word of special notice is desired as to this Department. We have long fe't that it has not been stocked with a tufficiently select class of goods, and we determined that a prominent feature in the reorganising of our Establishment should be the proper overhaul of this Department. This has accordingly been done by cur Mr Mills, and we now confidently commend it to the notice of the gentlemen of the city. Everyth ! ng that is new in Hats, Shirts, Oxford Regatta, and other Scarves, Handkerchiefs, Collars, and Gentlemen's Hosiery is to be had here, and at lowest prices, The completeness of the selection, and the thoroughness with which this Department will be conducted, is a decidedly new and pleasing feature in our business. The system upon which we intend pushing our trade deserves especial notice. The success which has hitherto attended our Periodical C'a,sh Sa'eshas been a matter of note and of general comment, and has been attributable to the enerjy and the judgment in purchasing and the careful and management of Mr James Mollisou. We therefore intend, now, under his etpec r al direction, aided by that of Mr Mills, to carry out a system of trade as ntarly analogous as can be to the business transacted with so much success by our Cash Sales. In effect we wish to wo»k up to and into a Cash Trade, and, in order to make it acceptable to our Customer•, we shall strain every nave in the purchase of goo-'s of suitable quaMty and style, and in placing them before our customers in such a manner, and with such courtesy and civility, as shall merit their approval. Our customers shall thus be enabled to retain to themselves, in the Lowness of the Pi ice of our Goods, the Extra Profits which would otherwise go to meet the book-debt lossos in a credit system. We feel assured that our system now inaugurated will meet the approval of our patrons, and that the consideration which we shall show to all classes of customers in every department, ccupled with the Moderate Prices and the Sterling Value and High-class Quality of our Stock, kept ever fresh, will merit for us the premier place and name as the

GEOF.GE STREET DRAPERY WAREHOUSE. We have boen justly proud of the lead which we have taken in the past through being favored with a highly-prized class of custom by patrons from all parts of the City and province, and that lead we are determined we shall maintain, OUR ESTABLISHMENT SHALL BE KKOWN FOK SELECT STOCK, MODERATE PRICES, COURTEOUS AND UNREMITTING ATTENTION. To enable us to carry out the system of trade which we have now commenced, we have thoroughly n novated our extensive premises ; we have delayed our purchases until the Autumn and Winter Season's Goods were all to hand ; we have made personal inspection of every class of goods, and secured those best suited to the tastes of our customers. Everything is new, fresh, and of Latest Style and Superior Quality, and the arrangements for accommodation and serving of a LARGE AND EVER-INCREASING CONNECTION OF CUSTOMERS are of the very best and most attractive kind.
