MASONIC INSTALLATION.

About 100 members of the Craft assembled in tho Bkptiat Chapel, N.E. Valley, on Thursday evening, the occasion being the installation and investiture of the officers of St. John Kilwinning, 062, S.C. Representatives of the various City and suburban lodges were present, including the officers of the District Grand Lodge. The chair having been vacated by tho retiring W.M. (Bro. 0. Allen), P.M. Bro. G. Williams was invited to act as installing master, and performed the duties appertaining to that office in a thoroughly efficient manner ; while the san e may be said in regard to the director of ceremonies, which was undertaken by P. M, Bro. Allen, A board of masters having been formed, Bro. Frederick Smith was instal cd in the chair for the ensuing twelve months, and received the customary honors and congratulations of the brethren present. The following officers were also invested ; 1.P.M., Bro. Allen ; D.M., Bro. Farquharson ; S.W., Bro. Jeffery ; J.W., Bro. Bell; treasurer, Bro. Howrth; secretary, Bro, Williams; chaplain, Bro. H. Clark; S.D., Bro. G. Connolly; J.D., Bro. Bertinshaw ; stewards, Bros. Sprague and A. Smith; 1.G., Bro. Jack: tyler, Bro. Johnson. At the conclusion of the ceremony P.M. Bro. Farquharson, on behalf of the lodge, presented tho retiring master with a handsome P.M. jewel for the efficient services rendered during his term of office. Bro. Allen, in responding, said he felt sure that the pre? sentation to him that night was not because of Ins having filled the cha.t- ex] ceptionally well, but on account of tho deep interest he had taken in the affairs of tho lodge since it had been established, and expressed the hope th«t, as in tlsfe past, the officers and members would give the same support to the present R.W.M. which had been accorded to him (the speaker) during his term of office. He trusted that although ho had passed tho chair, which was tho ambition of every true Craftsman, he would still continue to take the same interest as he had hitherto done in the welfare of the lodge. A social gathering wound up the proceedings.
