PRESENTATION TO DR ROBERTS.

Tho members of tho staff of the Dunedin Hospital met in one of the wards of the inBtitution on Saturday afternoon for the purpose of making a presentation to Dr Roberts, the retiring house surgeon. Tho presentation consisted of a beautiful oak cabinet writing table (specially made by Messrs Hitchcock Brothers), an inkstand, a gold pencil-case, and an illuminated address prepared by Mr George. The address was as follows :

Tho accompanying offioo table and Inkstand of whioh we beg your arccptince, nny in future days serve to romind you of the pabt ten busy and useful years, and of tho Btaff under you during your houscsurgoonship. Dear Sir,—l havo tho honor, on behalf of tho trustees cf the Dunedin Hospital, te acknowledge tho receipt of your letter of tho 20th September intimating your intention to resign the post of house surgeon to tho Dunedin Hospital. In answer thereto I have been requested to convjy to you tbo following resolution passed by tho ttmtccs at tho meeting held in October last:-" Resolved, that Dr Roberts's rcsignOion bo accepted, and that it be recorded on the miriu'es tho grcifc pleasuro the trustees have had in woiklng with Dr Kobeits, and the high appreciation they entertain of the manner in which he has fulfilled the functions cf house surgeon to the Dunedin Hospital."
