Latest intelligence from the Continent indicates that the Powers are concerting for a settlement of the Bulgarian question in a manner agreeable to Russia. VIENNA, January 1. Tho situation has improved, and Prince Lobanff, tho Russian Ambassador here, has peacefully assured Count Kalnoky, declaring that Russia is adverse to war. Herr Tisza, President of the Hungarian Council, in receiving the new year's congratulations of the Liberal leaders, expressed a hope that war had been averted, and declared that Hungary had never provoked a breach of the peace; but if war were inevitable, the Hungarians would be prepared to do their duty. The Reserves will shortly undergo a
week's drill with new repeaters.
