FIRE.

- ♦ A fire broke out about 1.20 on New Year's morning aboard the coal-hulk Prince Alfred, anchored in the bay. The fire, which was confined to the after part of the ship, continued until late on Sunday morning. A number of willing hands, including a member of the Salvage Corps, succeeded in removing the rigging and spars of the main and fore masts, and eventually subdued the flames. The fire was firat noticed by some lads in charge of tho yacht Goldsceker, when about 600 yards off The flames then appeared to be issuing from the cabin. The cause of the fire is unknown, but for some time past a number of lads have been in the habit of going on board the hulk at night. The hulk is the property of the Bnlnner Coal Company. ' .'
