BROAD BAY SCHOOL.
The above school celebrated their breaking-up with a concert by the pupils in the church, which was kindly lent by the trustees, it being more suitable for the occasion than the school. There was a large gathering of friends and visitors, who thoroughly appreciated the entertainment given by the children. Votes of thanks Tyere accorded the chairman (Rey. M. Fee), Miss Huie (organist), the teacher (Mr Hide), and his pupils. The prizes, including a Waterbury watch and several other valuable and' useful articles, were presented by the chairman as follows For marks obtained for general work: —Stan* dard I.; Edmund Ward 1, William Walgnist 2. Standard II.: Hubert Green 1, John Ward 2. Standard III,; William Warl 1, lucy Welbourn 2. Standard iy.: Jane Geary L Rose Gwin 2, Nellie U‘Leod 3. Standard V.: Alex. Rodger 1, William Anderson 2, William Raynbird 3. Standard VI. : Katie Green 1, Nelfie Anderson 2. Standard YQ.; Mabel Green, speciaTfor Latin.
Special prizes for best attendance, \yitb first-class attendance certificates, were awarded to David Anderson and William Anderson ; also, second-class certificate to Jane Geary. '
