' Miss E. Falrbalm. who is leaving Burrows's boot factory, was yesterday presented by hor fellow employees with a |table-oover, silver cruet,'and horseshoe mirror, Abouttixty qf, the hapds assembled to bid the reolpient good-bye, and Mr W; Houston, who made the presentation, spoke In warm terms of tho respect entertained towards Miss Fairbairn by those with whom she had been associated J At the Engineers' Bandroom last .evening Mr H. Benjamin, 1 honorary conductor, was presented by the members with a handsome framed photograph of the band.' Sergeant Jaokson, in presenHDg the picture, said that as it was the first anniversary of Mr Benj imin's oonneotion .with the band,'the members felt that they could not let tho occasion pass without expressing in some, manner their appreciation of the many services ho had rendered them.' The'plctuie, which is one ot the largest ever turned out here, was executed by Mr Wifi Frost. • -i ;
