(Received October 29, 18>7, at 12.30 There was great excitement last night, when a demonstration was made against Silver Prince, and 100 to 11 wm laid against him six times. There is nothing wrong with the horse, but it is simply _ y hedged by the person who drew him in the large sweep drawn recently in Sydn y. i horse was out working this morning, and cantered all right. Ihe weather i* fine, ami there is every prospect of a fine day, but it is blowing hard. The citv is full of visitors. The Derby will be run at four o’clock. Abercorn, 1 ranter, or Enfilade should furnish the winner ; the former for choice. Whakawai will make the pace for Tranter, and Lava for Abercorn. The Cup favorites are all in good condition.
