M. Paulus, the Macdermott of the Paris music-halls, has come into collision with the ' New VTork Herald.' It appears the famous ditty "En Revenant de la Revue," of which M. Paulus is part author, was printed in that journal without permission of this gentleman. Under the third clause of tho law of July, 1793, he has the right to confiscate everything pirated from him until he has received author's dues and rights. The great injustice done to M. Paulus, however, consists in the fact that he has been totally ignored by the ' Herald.' Here the pride of the lion-comique was touched, and —four copies of the peccant paper have been seized by a police inspector.
