TWO CRICKET CLUBS AT NORTH DUNEDIN.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The Association are to be given credit for their determination to compress the small clubs into clubs of such size as will really help young players forward by providing a decent wicket for them to play upon. Cluba of thirteen or fourteen members are not worthy of the name, and require as much ground for their use as a club of fifty. The question is: how to reform the present state of things without dealing unjustly with any one club; and I suggest to the Albion, Grange, and North Dunedin Clubs the following course of action : Start fairly, and leave out the principal bone of contention—viz., Which club ia to retire in favor of tho others ?—and agree t3 unite the whole membership and form two clubs; it being optional with the members uniting to join which of thb two they desire later on. This being agreed to, each of the three clubs should appoint, say, three of their Committee to arrange amount of subscription and receive names and subscriptions, and then call a meeting of those whose names and contributions have been handed in to decide upon the names the two clubd shall be called. lam sure that if this course is adopted a satisfactory result would be arrived at.—l am, etc., Northern Flayer. Dunedin, October 3.
